on February 28, 2007, at 5 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exceptional exhibition, produced by the History Archives and Jehovah’s Witnesses Information Services of Selters (Taunus, Germany), offers a chronological and thematic presentation of the story of Jehovah’s Witnesses who were deported under the Nazi regime. Short biographies reveal the story of these women and men locked into concentration camps for being Bible Students and marked by a purple triangle on their prisoner uniforms. In the year 1939, an important group of Jehovah\u2019s Witness women were transferred from the camp of Lichtenburg to the new women\u2019s concentration camp in Ravensbr\u00fcck. These women were the first prisoners of the camp. Approximately 400 women Jehovah’s Witnesses, who refused to work for the armament industries, were locked into the Zellenbau, the sinister “solitary confinement” of the camp, from winter 1939\/1940. Until the end of 1944, approximately 1200 female Jehovah’s Witnesses were imprisoned in Ravensbr\u00fcck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
