A program was held on October 30 at Seigle Auditorium in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition, Jehovah’s Witnesses: Faith Under Fire. A presentation by Greg and Sandra Milakovich, US representatives for the Arnold-Liebster Foundation, gave an overview of the history of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Nazi Germany and concluded with an interview of Simone Arnold Liebster from her home in France via Skype.

The conference theme was “Setting the Standard” and held at Mesa Community College. Exhibitors Kristin and Mike Walter shared historical and educator resources about the experience of Jehovah’s Witnesses during the Nazi era.

A Chronicle of Hope—Revisiting the Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, Atlanta, Georgia – USA

A special event at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta marked the 25th anniversary of the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Dr. Tharcisse Seminega, a Tutsi professor at the University of Rwanda in Butare, and his family narrowly escaped the machetes. Charles Rutaganira, who lived in the capital Kigali, was left for dead in a heap of corpses but survived. These survivors told their stories and reflected on the genocide and the urgent message it conveys for citizens of the world today. Courtesy of the program sponsor, the Arnold-Liebster Foundation, attendees received gift copies of Dr. Seminega’s newly published memoir “No Greater Love: How My Family Survived the Genocide in Rwanda.”
